First Time Dancing in Denmark! A Vibrant Campus Life Full of Colors?! 【Denmark Tour: Week 2】
From now on, I'll aim for one simple post per week sharing the last two weeks of my European wanderings. Still hitting Finland, Iceland, Latvia, and Netherlands! Irregular updates incoming 🙌🏻 — each packed with rich pics and 1,000+ words of records. Got travel tips to share? Drop 'em in the comments — let's chat!
Day 7 [15 Sept]
Almost forgot I came to Denmark to study, not just tour 🙏🏻. After two weeks off, finally hit my first class at Copenhagen Business School (CBS) 😮💨.
My first pick? An 8 AM lecture 🥵. Overslept, skipped breakfast, arrived 15 mins late as expected 🗿. Slipped into the campus classroom — CUHK crew had claimed a whole row, leaving me one lonely seat.
It was Business Strategy: How Europeans define markets/demands, top companies' expansion tactics 💥. Sounded fancy, but it was Year 2 HK stuff 🐟 — zoned out, dipped midway for Danish visa errands 🚬.
Back for 3-hour Operations & Logistics Management. Denmark's logistics shine (world's biggest container firm Maersk 🛳). Actually took notes — surprise! 😃
Thrill of the day: Finally rented a bike!!! Feels like game level-up — biking makes you elite 🤣 No more sweaty walks to school 🏃.
Day 8 [16 Sept]
Another class day — HK, Danish, and US students united! Content echoed yesterday's Strategy, but with familiar faces.
Prof was energetic, no monologues. PPTs? Just bullet points, not HK-style book-copy marathons.
Content hard to apply, so half-focused. Fun twist: Hypothetical "Brazil govt suppressing slums with army" ♟. Prof tossed it out — 1 hour of student hot takes. No one let awkward silence hit; everyone chimed in — rare HK vibe 👊🏻. Personally? I'd rather chill in my seat.
Post-class: Student society fair like CUHK's bazaar ❤️. ~40 groups: sports, volunteering, etc. Cool ones: CBS Beer (beer nights), CBS Wine (wine tastings), CBS Food Hub (cooking fun).
Stalls with freebies (shaved ice, energy bars) — reps pitched, got FB likes. Biz school = tons of finance/tech/career clubs! Abroad, skipping academics — eyeing dance class 🥶. CBS seniors teach, free, meet foreigners. Full today; hope Week 2 brings my first dance vid 😶.
Day 12 [21 Sept]
Week 2: Classes ramp up, must-see spots done — time to focus 🍺. Monday off! After non-stop outings (travel goal = chur!), I was beat 🥲.
Full rest day: No outings, solo cooking, no friends — recharge ⚡️. Dorm lowdown 💦: Porcelænhaven — solo room size of HKU's double (with private kitchen — wild! Tho 3x pricier 😶🌫️).
Share bathroom with GBS pal next door — knock anytime. Cleaned together on move-in. ~10 CUHKers here — group dinners, bdays! Borrow ingredients upstairs if lazy.
Dorm links to CBS building — walk straight to lectures. Floors have shared spaces for meetings/chats (tho projects stay in-room) 👨🏻💻.
Basement laundry: Self-serve washers/dryers, online CC pay — system buggy sometimes (pay but no credit…). 5-min walk to metro, 2-3 mins bike 🚴🏻. Nearby big supermarkets for all essentials.
Downside: Few/pricey restaurants (hot pizzas/kebabs only) — forced daily cooking 🙃.
Day 13 [22 Sept]
Tuesday classes: GLOBE Capstone Project — biz info frameworks + interview scripts 🙊. Key: Sharp customer Qs, spot info-hiding, probe why.
3-hour mix: Role-play interview w/ US classmate vs prof 👨🏻🎓.
After: 6 CUHKers biked 30 mins to northern Experimentarium science museum (faster than metro!). Playground-like vs HK Science Museum — hyper interactive 😎. 3 floors, dozens of machines!
Favorites: Group fitness games testing jumps/grip/flexibility + improvement tips — felt like gym sesh 🤣. English/Danish body science plaques — thoughtful.
1st floor physics: Build gear/spinner experiments. Sports zone rocked longest: Climbing wall, shooting range, balance boards, ball-tossing madness ⛄️. Closed 5 PM — biked 30 mins home 😴.
Evening Mid-Autumn party 🌕: Friend brought 2 mooncakes + cheese platter. Floormates chatted till dawn — not how we do it in HK 😂.
Day 14 [23 Sept]
Class on company ops & logistics: Game sim — roles as factory/transport/wholesaler/retailer. Supply chain coordination = nightmare 🤯. Demand spikes? Endless comms/delays — inflexible!
Not the content, but interactive team fun shone — met neighbor Maurice (Colombian exchange), swapped IG 😉. Abroad tip: Step outta your bubble for new friends~
Post-class: First dance class 🕺🏾 w/ CBS Dance! Hip hop — torture for uncoordinated me 🥲. Dance pros, tips pls!
Also Charlie's bday (CUHK pal) — dropped work at 10:30 PM for room surprise, pure HKU dorm vibes 🥰.
Next 3 months: CPH student life w/ 10+ friends ❤️. Next stops? Suggest away ✈️!
