【Stockholm 3-Day Trip】Authentic IKEA, Nobel Museum, Vasa Sunken Ship! 🇸🇪🛳️
When talking about Stockholm, most people first think of Stockholm Syndrome and The Snowman ⛄️
When it comes to Sweden, what else do you think of? IKEA? Meatballs? 🧆 Here's what we found on three days exploring the capital! 🇸🇪

Today was the earliest I've ever woken up 🥶 Slept only two hours, woke up at 4 AM, jumped out of bed and set off with my two friends Natalie and Wendy to Copenhagen Airport, flying to Sweden's capital Stockholm for a three-day-two-night trip 🥳
Being an inland flight, it only took an hour. Our Airbnb was in a slightly remote area, so from the airport we took another train, about an hour's journey. We dropped off our bags at the accommodation, bought Burger King for breakfast, then took the train to our first destination in Stockholm — Drottningholm's Palace 👑, the palace still inhabited by the Swedish royal family.d
I didn't have high expectations for this place, because in Denmark we'd already seen various extravagant, luxurious palaces and had started to feel palace-fatigued. But the Swedish palace turned out to be completely different in style — it's simple.
The entire palace is just a simple light-yellow ordinary large detached house, with no exaggerated carvings or gold decorations, but still elegant. The exterior has fences and guards, and because royal family members are living here today, we couldn't go inside to visit, but we went to the nearby Royal Opera House to tour. 🎤
The opera house's architectural style is similar to the palace's, and today it's still not open. But we peeked through the windows 👀 and could see the interior decor is actually very luxurious, with over a dozen crystal chandeliers hanging from the ceiling and red carpet on the floor. Behind the opera house is a huge garden. As soon as I walked through the gate, I saw two neat rows of trees extending forward, like the "road of life" that appears at the end of movies 🎬
Every few meters in the garden there are various marble statues, but I don't know why they're all naked, with prominent... features 😰 On both sides are neatly trimmed bushes, arranged like a maze, and the three of us felt like we were exploring inside.
At the end of the maze is a Chinese Pavilion, but apart from a few carved dragons as decoration, it's not Chinese-style at all 🤭 After circling around outside for a while, we returned to the garden entrance and took the bus back to downtown Stockholm for shopping!
➖➖➖➖➖
The first thing we did wasn't shopping for clothes, but going to the bubble tea shop Machi Machi to buy Taiwanese-style drinks. This shop is opened by Jay Chou's manager and is very popular in Europe. I bought myself a Creme Brulee bubble tea — tastes like home 🍵
Do you know that the multinational fashion company H&M is actually Swedish? Here really every street corner has an H&M, and they're three floors high! My two friends went crazy when they saw shopping opportunities, ready to browse the entire shopping street in one go 🙏🏻
I prefer shopping on my own, so I left halfway through to check out Swedish clothing stores 😶🌫️ The clothing stores here follow a minimalist style, with white walls on all sides, and products displayed separately in different corners rather than neatly arranged. And besides selling clothes, they also sell various lifestyle items, like candles, bookshelves, etc. 📖
Around 7pm, we started getting hungry, so we found a Swedish restaurant to eat some local cuisine. Swedish seafood soup is a "tourist must-try", tastes a bit like a fusion of puff pastry cream soup + seafood laksa, and has a rich buttery flavor. Of course there were Swedish meatballs, with a strong meat taste, paired with cream sauce — you can feel the savory blend of both in your mouth 😋
Because our accommodation doesn't allow entry after 10pm, we hurried home after eating, recharged a bit, and prepared for the second day's journey!
Day two's focus was Stockholm's Old Town, which like Denmark is full of colorful detached houses 🏘 One eye-catching attraction is the Nobel Museum, as the cradle of the highest scientific honor, we certainly couldn't miss it.
The museum isn't large, with portraits of every Nobel Prize winner hanging overhead — nearly 600 of them, and electronic screens introducing each winner's contributions.
Additionally, there's a large exhibition hall introducing the award ceremony banquet, one of the world's most luxurious banquets. Not only does it have custom-designed tableware, but each year's menu is a masterpiece by world-class chefs, aiming to give TV viewers a deeper appreciation for the art of food. The materials used at each banquet are of the highest quality, hoping to make every Nobel laureate feel unforgettable 🤩
When we visited, there happened to be staff explaining nearby, giving more in-depth explanations about Nobel's original intentions in establishing the prizes. The entire museum takes about an hour and a half to complete, after which we went to the museum's restaurant to personally taste the ice cream that Nobel laureates would eat. It costs almost 120 SEK, so we ordered one to share among the three of us 🥲 It was a vanilla ice cream with lingonberry sorbet, the sorbet made with real ingredients, rich in fruity flavor, but the price is really quite expensive 🥲

Daisy's original name was Princess Margaret. Because of her love of gardening, she used the name of this flower as her nickname. She was a princess who married from England, and also a legendary woman widely loved in Sweden. She had extremely high achievements in painting and gardening, with many works also displayed here.
Our next stop was the nearby Stockholm Royal Palace. Unlike yesterday's one, this palace has been completely transformed into a museum. This palace sits in the center of the Old Town, also following a practical style on the outside, with two exhibitions inside — one about Daisy, a very important Swedish queen of the early 20th century, and the other about crafts in the palace's various rooms 💡

➖➖➖➖➖
/ The Vasa Museum
➖➖➖➖➖
/ The spirits museum
